Outstanding time lapse videos in February 2021

Welcome to our list of outstanding time lapse videos in February 2021. Every month, we honour outstanding projects and show these masterpieces to as many time lapse enthusiasts as possible. We pick videos for their unique shots, outstanding quality or innovative editing.

Seasons of Denmark

Autumn

Having already featured on our list of Outstanding time lapse videos in September 2020, the name Casper Rolsted is not new to us. He has just released the second episode of his "Seasons of Denmark" project, in which he plans to create a time lapse video of each season. The second episode covers autumn.

You can tell that Casper has poured a lot of work into this project. The moody images and cool transitions from one season to the next are very well executed. But what blew us away were the insane shots of the growing mushrooms. Very cool!

Romania Road trip in 4k

Next on our list of outstanding time lapse videos in February 2021 is another series that has been featured before is "Little Big World" by film production company Spoonfilm. The artists create stunning tilt-shift time lapses which make the world look like it’s made up of tiny miniature models. The latest episode has just been released and features Romania.

We love watching the episodes of "Little Big World" because of its unique style, which we find very entertaining. Especially the shots of the miniature sheep herd were fun to watch!

NORWAY 4K

A Timelapse Journey

Hakon Settemsdal specialises in FPV drone operation. However, he's also a great time lapse photographer. Earlier this month, he released a great time lapse video about Norway called "Norway 4K - A Timelapse Journey".

This video covers some very cool night shots, including some stunning images of the northern lights. Watching this video makes us wanna travel through the insane landscapes of Norway right away!

Leidse Kou

The last project on our list of outstanding time lapse videos in February 2021 is by time lapse photographer Arne Wossink. When temperatures dropped drastically in Europe last month, all the canals in Leiden, Netherlands, froze and people started ice skating. Arne saw this as an opportunity. He grabbed his camera and shot this time lapse video within just four days.

We love the idea of spontaneously going out to shoot a time lapse video when an unforeseen opportunity opens up. Also, the idea of accompanying the video with the audio track of an old newsreel is very creative. But what caught our eyes was the very well executed shot where winter transforms into spring at the end of the video.
